Shop by trailer type and see only the gear that fits your rig. Truck Trailer Pro groups its cargo securement gear by the trailer you pull, so a flatbed driver, a hotshot driver and a van driver each see the products that fit their work. Every page lists the gear, an equipment table and answers to common questions.

Flatbeds, step decks, RGNs, hotshots and Conestogas use the same core tie-downs: 4″ winch straps rated 5,400 lb WLL, Grade 70 transport chain, load binders and corner protectors. All the chain we sell is Grade 70. Starting from scratch? See the flatbed starter kit or the hotshot starter kit.
Shop By Trailer Type FAQ
Which trailer type page should I use?
Pick the trailer you pull. Each page lists the products that fit that trailer, and products that work on several trailers, such as winch straps and Grade 70 chain, appear on each of them.
What is the difference between a flatbed, a step deck and an RGN?
A flatbed has one deck about 5 ft high. A step deck drops to about 3.5 ft behind the upper deck, for taller freight. An RGN has a well deck about 18 to 24 in high and a removable gooseneck, for heavy equipment that is driven on.
Do all open deck trailers follow the same securement rules?
Yes. Flatbed, step deck, RGN, hotshot and Conestoga loads all follow the FMCSA cargo securement rules in 49 CFR 393.100 to 393.136, including the combined WLL rule and the tie-down count by load length.
