5/16″ Grade 70 chain and binder kit. Pair a 5/16″ x 20 ft Grade 70 transport chain with clevis grab hooks (4,700 lb working load limit) with a 5/16″–3/8″ binder (5,400 lb working load limit). Add one chain and one binder for each tie-down you need. Both are sold at their regular prices.
| Part | Size | Working load limit |
|---|---|---|
| Grade 70 transport chain | 5/16″ x 20 ft, clevis grab hooks | 4,700 lb |
| Pro Ratchet Binder | 5/16″–3/8″ | 5,400 lb |
| Indirect Load Chain Binder | 5/16″–3/8″ | 5,400 lb |
| Chain and binder assembly | Limited by the weaker part | 4,700 lb |
Your chains must add up to at least 50 percent of the cargo weight in working load limit. A chain that goes over the load and attaches to both sides of the trailer counts its full 4,700 lb; a chain attached directly from the load to the trailer counts half, 2,350 lb. A 20,000 lb machine secured with direct tie-downs therefore needs at least five sets, and any machine of 10,000 lb or more needs at least four tie-downs. See our FMCSA cargo securement guide.
Hauling heavier equipment on 3/8″ or 1/2″ chain? Use the pairing table on our chains and binders page, or browse all load binders. Setting up a whole rig? See the flatbed starter kit or the hotshot starter kit.
